Comm chip-maker Raza sells to NetLogic for $183.4M
Raza Microelectronics, maker of processors used in communication devices, announced that it will be acquired by NetLogic Microsystems, provider of memory for data packets, for $183.4 million in stock. Investors in Raza’s parent company RMI may receive an additional $6.5 million and 2.5 million shares in NetLogic based on the company’s performance in the next year, reports VentureWire.
Based in Cupertino, Calif., public RMI has provided chips to Cisco Systems, Aruba Networks, Alcatel-Lucent, Sun Microsystems and IBM. The deal is expected to expand NetLogic’s product portfolio and enhance products it already offers.
