Web site carbon tracker CO2Stats raises angel funding

CO2Stats, a member of the most recent Y Combinator class, has taken an angel funding round of less than $1 million, according to VentureWire.

The company, also called Enernetics, analyzes the energy footprint of websites then offers the option of purchasing renewable power to offset the sites’ energy usage. Its customers so far include IBM.

Several well known tech figures participated in the round, including Friendfeed’s Paul Buchheit, Reddit’s Alexis Ohanian, and Wayne Crosby and Robby Walker of Mixin Capital.
