Publishing and conference startup Greener World Media takes $1.4M

Greener World Media, the Oakland, Calif.-based owner of GreenBiz, GreenerComputing and several other media properties dealing with the cleantech and environmental world, has taken a first investment of $1 million to expand its business.
The company also runs yearly design conference in Virginia, and has a research arm that produces a report called State of Green Business. Greener World plans on extending all three of its business arms with the funding.
K Group, a venture firm based in the US and Israel, provided the financing.
