Canopy Ventures raises $100M second fund for IT and life science
Early-stage venture capital firm Canopy Ventures has raised $100 million for its second fund. The firm is an investor in the information technology fields, and is also making an initial foray into life sciences.
Canopy’s first fund came out of a venture firm founded by Ray Noorda in 1995. The amount it invested is not listed, but the firm says it has invested in over 100 companies to date.
The primary areas of IT investment Canopy looks at are enterprise software, IP video technologies, networking and communications, security software, WI-FI broadcasting, IT hosting and software as a service. It’s based in Lindon, Utah.
