First of all I commend you on getting reader feedback on your new blog. I don't believe we each have the right answer for everyone however getting a broad range of feedback is a step in the right direction. That said, I believe the blog/site should be categorized into topics or segments discussing the key issues and pieces of digital media. Recommended segments: Content Providers/Creators, Distribution, Monetization, Legal, and Consumer Trends. The start-ups and investors (i.e., the players) will fall into these areas. It would be great to see coverage that goes a little deeper in analyzing what "this solves" or "what is needed." One of the biggest challenges in digital media is monetization in the emerging distribution channels. There are often simple answers but the "if" is the willingness of consumers to gravitate to that model. Think of the MVNOs (e.g., ESPN Mobile, Amp'd Mobile, Disney Mobile) that were targeting select groups however the content fees were hard for their users to swallow. What other non-obtrusive means are available to monetize content? Who are the players at the long-tail of digital music, digital video, etc? How are they surviving? What new platforms are being developed to distribute and monetize content across more than one medium? Are there players in one media that have the capabilities but are not leveraging them to other mediums, channels? Coverage on the legal aspects is also interesting as there are many challenges but more simply for the new comer who simply has no clue, some basic legal coverage would be a great resource for them. One thing I did not list in my segments above is "International." I've talked to many marketers, entrepreneurs here in the states and many haven't a clue where to start or who to talk to for things international.

It would be great to hear your take on a given vertical - like those described by Ken above, but giving broader competitive perspective, including efforts by the larger media players to address that category. Recognizing that writing such articles would be a considerable task, perhaps doing that type of analysis once or twice a month on a given vertical would suffice.

Great job by the way!
