Link_A_Media Devices, a data recovery firm, gets $22M

A group of strategic investors and two venture firms has provided a $22 million second round of funding to Link_A_Media Devices, which develops data recovery techniques for use with both hard-disk drives and solid-state drives.

Link_A_Media, based in Santa Clara, Calif., can raise storage density and raise drive yields during the manufacturing process, according to its release. Its first product is for the mobile peripheral storage market.

The funding round was led by AIG SunAmerica Ventures, with participation from KeyNote Ventures, NEC Electronics, Micron Technology, Inc and Seagate Technology.
