Car Advisory Network raises $6.5M for auto information site

The Car Advisory Network is a company developing of a “next generation media platform” for the auto industry. The firm, based in Seattle, Washington, is in stealth mode. It was established in April of 2007.

Although little is known about the company, a bit of digging into job listings indicates that the company is working on building a major portal for automobile information. Its chief operating officer is a former executive at Edmunds, an award-winning news, info and shopping site for cars.

The $6.5 million angel round came from Accel Partners based in Palo Alto, CA and Greylock Partners based in Waltham, MA.
