Firetide, a wireless mesh network developer, raises $14.4M
Firetide, a Los Gatos, Calif. developer of wireless mesh networks, has raised a round of $14.4 million, its fourth funding since its founding in 2003.
Wireless mesh networks are a method of interconnecting many separate wireless nodes, creating a loose network effective for covering large areas like cities. They are especially favored for uses like large-scale surveillance or public safety networks, although they also have numerous consumer uses.
The funding was led by Coral Capital Management. Investors from previous rounds also participated.
