Serus, provider of outsourced manufacturing software, raises $8M
[Update 12/6: Since the story was filed below, Serus has raised $2 million more in funding from Samsung Ventures, according to a regulatory filing.]
Serus, a Mountain View, Calif. company that makes online software for manufacturing outsourcing operations, said it has raised $8 million in a third round of funding.
Its software is now used mostly by semiconductor makers, such as AMD, but over the next year it will be moving into the automotive and medical device industries, it says.
The round was led by new investor OVP Venture Partners, and included existing investors Diamondhead Ventures, Zap Ventures and individuals.
Serus has raised a total of $13.8 million in financing since 2001.
