Sprout raises $ from Sequoia and USVP for enterprise database systems

San Francisco’s Sprout Systems, which is building enterprise database systems, has raised a first round of funding from Sequoia Capital and USVP. The amount wasn’t disclosed.

Founders are Paul Mikesell, who previously founded Isilon Systems; Eric Hoffman, previously a researcher at the US Naval Research Laboratory and other groups, and early engineer at Ipsil; and
Sergei Tsarev, who led internet operations systems infrastructure team at AOL.
