Accel pumps around $1M into mobile application designer, Comek

Accel Partners has invested about $1 million into Comeks, a Finnish company building creative design applications for mobile devices, according to VentureWire (sub required).

Founded in late 2006, the company looks to create software that will enable cellphone users to create highly produced photos, videos and cartoons, which they can then share via their mobile device social networks. One example of the series of applications the company has in development is a program that lets users insert text and animation into photos they have on their phones, allowing them to create comic strips of their lives, according to [CEO Arto] Viitanan.
